Kirtlington Quarry is one of the most important Middle Jurassic vertebrate localities in the world, its rich history dates back to the the Upper Bathonian times, around 166 million years ago. Fossils of theropod dinosaurs, crocodilians, pterosaurs, fishes and many shark teeth have all been discovered there.
